‘Controversy’ about CBC’s radio ‘interview’ with Rob Ford shows there really are ‘two Torontos’

October 29, 2010 By admin

Michael Coren writes:

Listen to this interview.

As much as I have sympathy for the CBC interviewer – I know this woman and she’s a fine and good journalist – there is something delicious about the new Toronto mayor’s responses.

He is a dedicated football coach and most of the boys he trains are black, fairly poor and prime candidates for crime and violence. Ford has put tens of thousands of dollars of his own money and years of work into coaching them.

The result is not only championships and victories but, literally, lives saved. These kids are getting university scholarships, learning self-esteem and discipline and often transforming their lives.

What fascinates me is that so many white, liberal, wealthy people think this interview makes Ford look bad. Idiots! This is why you lost the election in the first place – you simply don’t understand ordinary people. Most men and women who listen to this will be cheering for Ford.
