‘Macabre’ (1958)

It’s William Castle Week at Trailers from Hell, and his first “big” movie, Macabre, launched his career as a gimmicky guy whose films, as our commentator says, “are more live ad campaigns than movies.” Pretty po-mo for the Fifties, huh?

Coincidentally (?), this week in New York you can go to a 15-movie William Castle Film Festival — which is presenting the movies with the in-theatre gimmicks intact!
