Human Rights Commission lawyer Giacomo Vigna alleges Levant damaged his character by calling him a fibber on Levant’s blog in 2008 for Vigna’s actions at a commission hearing a year earlier. (…)
This defamation suit is expected to wrap up Friday, but Vigna — who has filed 15 complaints with the Alberta law society against Levant — served him another libel notice this week for a different blog post.
Since printing the infamous Mohammed cartoons in his now-defunct Western Standard magazine in 2006, Levant has also fended off three hearings at the country’s various human rights commissions and tribunals.
