He taunts us still: Small percentage of Canadians polled pretty sure “V-E Day” has something to do with Trudeau.

Can you blame them? Pretty much everything that goes on in this “country” has something to do with Trudeau.

PS? Foreigners.

World War II does not have the same power as a mythic, world historical event for non-Anglo Saxons as it does for the rest of us. I doubt many Asians, Latinos, etc bought tickets to Saving Private Ryan or treated Band of Brothers as appointment television.

(If you doubt me, just remember: Obama sent back the bust of Churchill. Get it?)

Note: this lack of a common mythology/vocabulary about WW2 is an enormous problem when it comes to fighting the current war.
