Remember the good old days? When we used to just kill people…?

UK Telegraph:

The numbers claiming disability benefits on the grounds that they are incapacitated by obesity have nearly doubled from 1,100 when Labour came to power to 2,040 last year. (…)

The figures were disclosed in a written parliamentary answer released by Theresa May, the shadow work and pensions secretary.

She said: “Labour have ignored obesity crisis in this country. They ditched the targets set out by the last Conservative Government and abandoned a group of people who need their help the most.

“Now the public has been left to pick up the mounting benefit bill for Labour’s decade of incompetence. We can’t go on like this.”

Yes, folks: a “conservative” said it was the government’s fault that people were fat. “We can’t go on like this” indeed.
