5 Feet of Fury

Next time I listen to my gut…

I didn’t write a ton of posts about the ACORN videos, but I posted a few and thought it was cool that two young conservatives were doing some shit disturbing. Yeah, I got caught up in the whole thing.

But — you can believe this or not at this juncture, and I don’t blame you for snorting — I never liked the look of the guy.

The girl seemed fine, but not that guy. I found him evasive even in friendly interviews, but thought, well, he’s only 24 and not some trained media monkey. He’s under a lot of pressure all of a sudden. Etc.

And I’ll say it even though I’ll probably regret it professionally: Andrew Breitbart leaves me cold, too. Yeah, so what? Look: I love what he does. It is important and necessary and a Very Big Deal.

But when I see or hear him, again, my alarm bells go off. Again, not everybody is Mr. Television. That’s cool. And yet…

Look, I’m not the best judge of character. To be able to judge character, you have to actually, like, leave the house once in a while and interact with humans. And that’s not my thing.

But still…

Whenever I don’t listen to my gut, I regret it. I have to relearn this once a year or so. Here I go again from the looks of it.
