Michael Coren: ‘Pat Robertson and you stupid people’

January 16, 2010 By admin

Michael Coren writes:

His organisation has raised millions of dollars for the developing world and provided an enormous number of university scholarships for inner-city youths. No matter; he’s easy to make fun of.

Lots to disagree with, above, but still a good read.

And, to point out the racist obvious — many Haitians agree with Robertson.

Yesterday, I also heard two old development hands on talk radio point out that voodoo is a problem in Haiti, for the decidedly non-supernatural reason that a primitive fatalistic belief system is counterproductive to capitalism and progress.

So anyway, if Robertson is “just some idiot”, I guess Haitians are too…

Ooops, wait…

NOTE: Normal people do not build roadblocks out of corpses.

Just as “starving” looters do not generally loot… plasma TVs. When the power’s been knocked out.

Normal people do not voluntarily live below sea level, in crime infested yet “colorful” (Democratic run) cities.

Many other parts of the US have been blasted with record breaking snow storms this year, and other drastic weather conditions, leading to multi-day power outages and supply shortages.

Oddly enough, I have yet to see a single photograph of anyone in such a region holding up a “HELP US!!” sign or yelling for FEMA trailers and $5000 debit cards from the “gubme’t”.

Haiti is screwed up because there is something wrong with Haitians.

Like Katrina, the earthquake is simply bringing pre-existing disfunction to the inconvenient attention of otherwise semi-oblivious white liberals and apoliticals.

New Orleans after Katrina was basically a typical Saturday night in New Orleans, except really, really wet.
