Canadian ‘conservative’ ‘men’ are mostly Canadian liberal men who don’t like taxes. They still believe in crap like laws and school and polls and studies and newspapers and elections and parties — and even multiculturalism and bilingualism, bless ’em.
One of them wrote to me today. I won’t embarrass him by naming his blog. (One thing I’ve noticed after nine years of this? The more “macho” names they give their blogs, the wimpier they are.)
But his is a pretty typical email:

What exactly did you mean by, “then start the deportation process”? Do you mean we should deport all Muslims out of Canada?
Yeah, I know.
I replied “Duh” or somesuch. It was much more polite than what I was thinking.
He wrote back:
So you believe in deporting Canadian citizens who are working to become a part of Canadian society simply because they have a different belief structure than you?
So here’s what I said:
I’m used to ‘conservative’ Canadian men by now, so I’ll play along:
Large numbers of Muslims are NOT working to become part of Canadian society. They favor sharia; they have multiple wives, whom they ‘support’ — on welfare; then they murder those wives or their daughters. They ghettoize themselves. They make their women wear bags over themselves from head to toe.
Years after 9/11, they still can’t bother themselves to protest Islamic terrorism, but can somehow organize 17000 of their co-religionists to a festival of ‘faith ‘at the Metro Convention Center. I stood across the street from them over the weekend (didn’t spot you there, funnily enough); not one held up a sign condemning terrorism, even though one of their number had just tried to blow up a plane. Not one of them carried a Canadian flag, either. They all carried ‘Palestinian’, HAMAS or Hezzbolla flags. One of them made a Hitler salute at us.
Or maybe you missed the ones who tried to hijack Macleans magazine, or the ones that cost Ezra Levant $100,000 in legal fees and are still threatening him with legal action now, or threatened Irshad Manji with death daily on her old blog, or take to shoving Jews on the streets of Calgary, or blow up Jewish libraries in Montreal. I know I didn’t hear or read more than a couple of condemnations of those actions from any Muslim besides Salim Mansur and Tarek Fatah (who will readily explain to you that the HRCs have been infiltrated by… radical Muslims.)
I have it on excellent authority that there are photographs of Toronto Muslims celebrating 9/11, but that our newspapers wouldn’t print them.
I could go on but in 2009, I shouldn’t have to educate a literate young man with internet access as to the nature of the problem.
Islam isn’t a ‘different belief structure’ — it is a supremacist political as well as religious system. It is generally incompatible with democracy. Those Muslims who have assimilated tend to no longer be, strictly speaking, Muslims; they are secular or outright apostates.
Unless Canada gets its act together and abolishes multiculturalism and political correctness, we are 10 years from being where the UK and Europe is now. Do you know anything about that situation, or do you simply accept without thinking the received secular liberal pieties in which most Canadians, even self-described ‘conservatives,’ are steeped?
In much of ‘sophisticated’ Europe, there are no-go zones where I would not be able to walk without a headscarf, if at all. In the UK, the government has hired “FMG counsellors” who are paid by the state to “help” girls undergoing this barbaric procedure.
If they’d had more mean, nasty, un-PC people like me blogging in the UK ten years ago, they wouldn’t have reached that point.
How high is your tolerance for barbarity? And how will you feel when I turn out to have been mean and right, and you were nice… and very very wrong?
