Audible.com review: highly recommended — now, for yet another reason

–>

Like I wasn’t gonna tell you about this…

Long time readers of this blog already know that I’m a big fan of Audible.com

For years, I’ve been a member of the Audible.com “talking books club.”

I get to keep up with my “reading” by downloading the latest titles — by authors like Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Jonah Goldberg, you name it — and listening to them on my iPod.

This is a great way to spend your commute — or, frankly, your days at the office, when liberal chatter throughout the cubicles gets to be too much to take.

Sometimes I load up the iPod with talking books, then use the car adapter so Arnie and I can listen to a good book on a long drive.

And/or you can listen to your favorite authors on your iPod while you work out — which is how actor/author Stephen Fry lost 80lbs in six months (and I lost about 40lbs this year.)

So, anyhow:

Audible.com is offering affiliates like me — people who hock memberships on their blogs — a little carrot/stick thing:

“Audible.com is running another publisher contest in September and you’re eligible to win $250 based on your past performance in the program.

“Be the first publisher to sell 15 AudibleListener Discount Gold Subscriptions during the month of September and we will give you a $250 Bonus.”

Contest Begins: September 1, 2009
Contest Ends: September 30, 2009

Now, winning that bonus would be nice.

But seriously: I push Audible.com all year long for a reason. When you look at how affordable and convenient it is, they have the best set up, hands down:

“AudibleListener Gold saves you money on the audiobooks you love. You get one audiobook download credit each month to use on any audiobook you choose.”

    * Choose from over 60,000 titles everyday
    * Load your portable device and listen anywhere anytime
    * Save up to 75% off of CD audiobook’s prices
    * Rollover up to 6 unused audio credits each year

And since I can hear you asking:

Audible.com talking book files are Mac and Windows compatible, and work on literally hundreds of devices, “including the Apple® iPod®, Creative®ZEN, SanDisk® Sansa, popular GPS devices like Garmin®, and many mobile phones, including Blackberry® and iPhone®.”

You can burn the files onto CDs, too. So if you want to give Audible.com a try:

Download an audiobook for $7.49 and save 50% for your first 3 months as a Gold Level Member.
