This is exactly the kind of thing my father would have done. Part of me is like, “This is in the newspaper…?”
Seriously: I would phone him and say, “Hi Dad, it’s Kathy” and he’d say “Kathy who?”
It’s always trouble when lower class people try to imitate the habits of the rich and famous. At least these people have money.
