Create a free personal website with Moogo.com (review)

July 26, 2009 By admin

Because I’ve been blogging since 2000, I sometimes get asked to review other people’s blogs, websites, software and such.

So I know there are lots of “create your own website FREE!!!” companies out there. I made my first website on one, and boy, was it ugly. But these services have come a long way in the past ten years.

Moogo.com looks especially promising.

Create a free personal website in just a few minutes with Moogo.com. You get a site that looks very “Word Press” — that is: modern, “with it”, professional. Moogo.com calls itself “no frills,” but that suggests “cheap and ugly” to me, and the sites you can make with their templates look pretty good, actually.

You can see what other people have done with Moogo.com’s tools and some of the results are very impressive.

I’d recommend using Moogo.com for things like an annual yearbook, promoting your local sports team, a wedding or other special event, or a newly established non-profit association: any specific, highly focused project that needs a fast yet attractive online presence.

Affiliate marketers might want to explore using Moogo.com to create dedicated sites to start promoting a specific product quickly and/or do a quickie offer test.

Moogo.com is free to use as long as you agree to allow third party ads on your page, which is standard practise for free web site creation companies.

However, you can upgrade to two different ad-free packages: Personal ($9.95/month) or Business ($29.99/month)

So check out the no-obligation “virtual tour” of the Moogo.com site making process and see what you think. If you need a quickie site that looks good, too, Moogo.com is one of the better looking options out there.
