I’m not sure I believe in the whole ‘libel’ thing anymore

And not because I’m being sued, although that has quite naturally given me reason to consider a matter I’d have otherwise ignored.

Mostly because of cases like this one; the fact that once you sue someone for libel, the libel is then repeated everywhere, forever, around the globe — and yet the injured party remains alive and mostly well, going about his business unharmed; and — most importantly — in the age of Paris Hilton, OJ Simpson, Dick Morris, Newt Gingrich and Al Sharpton, the very notion of “reputation” as a valued commodity is an anachronism.

Also, I don’t trust the Establishment, and this includes (especially) careerist, ideological judges.
