5 Feet of Fury

The further adventures of Bernie ‘I’m not gay but my t-shirt is’ Farber (UPDATED)

Remember yesterday, how that guy who’s always calling me a ‘racist’ brought down the prissy “wrath” of the Star’s ombud (yeah, I know…), because Zerb made (for once) an almost-amusing observation?

Well, incredibly (or not these days) it gets even goofier.

This is how these people spend their precious time:

Although he isn’t gay, Farber marched in the parade wearing a t-shirt that read, “Nobody knows I’m gay.” [photo included in story] (…)

Despite being the one to falsely claim he was gay in the first place, Farber discussed the issue with the CJC executive committee this week and issued a letter to the Toronto Star, objecting to Zerbisias’ comments.  He insisted he wasn’t gay – not that there’s anything wrong with that.

He even questioned the right of columnists to identify any public figure who attended the parade, even though his presence had been publicized by the Canadian Jewish News and Farber himself before Zerbisias responded to it.

As BCF says: Bernie ‘Not Smart Enough to Really Be Jewish?’ Farber may not be “two spirited, but he sure is two-faced”.

I lived in Boystown for about 12 years. I also used to wear my hair super cropped, and didn’t exactly dress like a girly girl. I got called “dyke” all the time when yobs drove up and down Church Street of a Saturday night.

So. What?

But remember: I’m the bigot…

How sad that anyone goes through life so obsessed with what others think of them, especially an amusing, off the cuff remark from a blog nobody reads.

It’s a sign of insecurity, no?

I’d rather be a ‘racist’ anyday than an unmoored, touchy, mixed up professional leftist.

You really do need a Left Wing Decoder Ring to figure these people out. Mine’s in the shop, cuz my last Zog cheque bounced. Damn you people!!

PS: nice earring, Bernie. What does the left lobe mean again…?

UPDATE: Mark Steyn writes at length…

Despite the fact that Mr Farber was the first to misidentify himself as gay, the newspaper’s ombudswoman devotes an entire column to a characteristically pompous media-ethics snoozefest denouncing the offending columnist for being “tasteless” and getting the paper’s apparently brain-dead publisher (my old boss at The Chicago Sun-Times) to do a lot of plonking pro-forma huffing about how the item “fell short of the Star’s standards of accuracy, fairness and civility”, and reassuring readers that in future systems will be put in place to ensure that the paper is even more unreadable …whoops, sorry, I mean, systems will be put in place to ensure that non-gays claiming to be gay are not taken at their word without having their gay status confirmed by gay-accredited orientation-checkers. Whatever.

UPDATE:

Why not join in the fun at my co-defendant’s place?
