5 Feet of Fury

So: who is Glenn Beck following on Twitter?

Just got the Glenn Beck newsletter, where he announced he’d just joined Twitter.

So I clicked on his Twitter page and one hour after his first post (and that email announcement) this afternoon, he had over 6000 7000 followers. (It went up in the few minutes it took me to write this post…)

And he was following 9 people.

Which sounds like a crazy ratio but it isn’t really of course:

Glenn Beck is a hugely popular conservative media pundit with a presumably massive email newsletter subscriber base, many of whom are already Twitterers.

And Beck’s only been on Twitter for, what, the length of a lunchtime? Between typical workday distractions, I probably only found about ten folks worth following on Twitter in my first hour, too.

Anyhow: I took a peek at who he’s following. (Don’t you love doing that?)

On Glenn’s list: Karl Rove and Jake Tapper, sure, but also Penn Jillette and Jack Welsh (how’s that for strange bedfellows?)

Anyhow, welcome to the world of Twitter, Glenn Beck. (And your producer, Stu.)
