If my email inbox is any indication, this is a still very vague yet growing concern among some ultra-pro-Semitic, pro-Zionist Christians — ordinary folks, not flakes. They rightly or wrongly detect a sorta, kinda anti-Christian tone to all this “the next Holocaust is coming” hysteria.
Most Christians of my generation (Catholic and Protestant) were raised in the post-Holocaust 20th century to believe that anti-semitism was THE worst sin; I certainly heard more about it than I ever did about, say, abortion. “Remember: Jesus was Jewish!” was the last word. At school we were inspired by stories of people like Irene Gut (who slept with an German officer to save the 12 refugees hiding in the basement), as well as Irene Sendler, the Polish nurse who smuggled thousands of Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto in toolboxes, trash cans and even coffins.
Yes, rabidly pro-Semitic Christians CAN be inept and goofy with their “red heifer” hysteria, but that’s usually all they are; their hearts are in the right place.
Conservative Christians know the real threat to Canada’s Jews comes from Muslim supremicists, and can’t figure out why “official” Jews are playing dumb, and always taking (admittedly often wrongheaded and embarrassing) white conservative Gentiles to the HRC tribunals instead.
What a perverse world when it’s the Gentiles who are for free speech, and the Jews are the book burners. I’d be embarrassed to be a Jew if I thought that Bernie “Burny” Farber of the Canadian Jewish Congress or Karen Lazar of the B’nai Brith spoke for anyone other than themselves. Frankly, they’re a shanda to the goyim.

I tell you one thing, if you wanted to increase anti-Semitic feeling — and ill-will in the Christian community, which is actually the Jews’ best friend — there is no better way than to be the new fascists of Canada. Are they trying to out-bid Elmasry for that dishonourable title? How bizarre, that not 70 years after the Holocaust, it’s our tribe that is the bully, our tribe that is calling for a limitation of freedom, and our tribe that is so disdainful of public opinion.
