5 Feet of Fury

A reader from Texas reports…

I’m a Dallas-area resident, and have been intrigued by the number of “Obama” signs in yards vs the “McCain” signs. It’s very unpopular in the DFW metropolitan area to be a conservative/Republican; most folks like to think of themselves as being more “enlightened” than that.  (rotflol) And McCain signs have been trashed; an article in the Dallas Morning News pointed it out.  (To be fair, there have also been attacks on Obama signs – but it appears that there’s a lot more action against McCain supporters.)

The reason that I’m writing is that I drove from Dallas to Houston & back yesterday/today to attend a concert (…) and as I’ve done for many years, I took the back roads instead of the Interstate.  Over the course of 220 miles, I saw many, many “McCain” signs.  I didn’t see even ONE “Obama” sign.  It would seem the everyday people, the *true* grassroots folks, are overwhelmingly supportive of McCain.

And I believe that Obama is hopeful he can win Texas.  During one three hour period, there were 14 Obama ads on TV.  [Where does he get the MONEY for all this…..?????]  His point was pretty lame; accusing McCain of being ultra pro-taxation.  But – for those who haven’t heard about Obama’s “share the wealth” comment [meaning anyone who relies on the MSM for their news] it could have some merit.

I haven’t got a clue as to who will win this election.  But the notion that Obama is the one with broad popular support is, well – bunk.
