Michael Coren: Conservatives now Canada’s “natural governing party”

As usual, read the whole thing…

In a way the absurdity of what happened in the election was epitomized by the victory of little Justin Trudeau in Papineau. Even though he has no experience and often sounds like a giddy schoolboy just given his first car, he will now sit in Parliament and most journalists will treat him with a nauseating degree of respect, merely because they think junior’s dad was really cool.

Very few of them will point to the fellow having the hubris to go around explaining that his name is irrelevant when we all know that if his name were anything other than Trudeau he’d be about as close to being an MP as Elizabeth May is to becoming a Pussycat Doll. As is so often the case in Canadian politics, we’re simply not told the truth.

The open, festering wound of all this is the Canadian establishment’s refusal to tell Quebec to shut up and stop behaving like a spoiled child. The separatists received a mere 10% of the vote, but are close to holding the balance of power in a country they despise. They are not a national party yet are given full time in television debates and, because of our archaic electoral system, are massively over-represented in Ottawa.
