Which means that phone calls about the book quickly degenerate (or evolve, if you prefer) into gun talk.

If I were an American, I could say that this was a charming illustration of the way the Second Amendment upholds the First, but being a Canadian, I have no Ammendments at all; I expect that sooner or later I will be obliged to quarter soldiers in my spare room…

Anyway, Pete recommends the following two models (but not the photos, Mrs. Vere — they were my find):

I like them both for the profoundly girlie newbie reason that they look super hot. I prefer the second (the shotgun) for my particular purposes, and for the whicked pistol grip.

But just because these chicks can weild them for a few seconds doesn’t mean I’d be able to for even longer. And I need a really short length of pull, so I think I’m still stuck with a baby gun like this:
