So I’m writing the “Ezra Levant” chapter for our forthcoming book on the Human Rights Commissions…

May 27, 2008 By admin

Between Steyn and Ezra, I totally snagged the “fun” chapters, as you can see:

O’REGAN: First of all, I know you were listening in on what Dr. Elmasry had to say. What’s your response?

LEVANT: Well, to be frank, he’s a bit of an idiot. I mean, this is the guy who went on radio and TV a few months ago and said that any Jew over the age of 18 in Israel is a fair target to be killed by terrorists. So, I’m not sure I’m going to take my ethical instructions from Chairman Mo over there.

He’s even dumber, because he hasn’t even seen our magazine and is calling it hate literature. I mean, shut up already. This is a free country. And, you know, you want to take me on with hate-speech crimes? He hasn’t even read the law because he knows those charges can’t be filed by an individual like him, they have to be filed by the Attorney General.

I think you just talked to a real big idiot, Seamus. (…)

O’REGAN: I have to ask you, Ezra, when you say those words like “idiot” when you’re directing them at somebody, I mean, are you deliberately using those words to make the point? To make the point that you should be able to say what you want?

LEVANT: Well, yeah, but he’s also an idiot. I mean, sorry, this is a guy who says any Jew is fair game for a terrorist. I mean, sorry, he’s an idiot. And he can’t arrest me for saying that because, first of all, it’s true, and, second of all, even if it’s just my opinion, well, welcome to Canada, buddy. We allow freedom of speech. And I’m not actually going to be lectured to by a Jew hater. Sorry.
