5 Feet of Fury

Sorry, that should read “SOME (crazy, pushy, idiot) Muslims.” Better?

“Despite the fact that they have come age and were educated in Canada, specifically in the legal tradition of Canada, they still don’t understand the concept of free speech. They think they are entitled to force Mcleans [sic] to simply allow them to publish whatever they want, and if they can’t get it by bullying Mcleans they will get a government agency to do it for them.

“This is so Muslim. If you want to accuse somebody in an Islamic country of offending Islam, you go to an Imam and get him to issue a fatwa against the offender. In effect, the human rights commissions substitute for the Imams and issue the fatwas.”

Actually, that “despite the fact” reminds me of another “despite” I stumbled upon earlier today.

In this case: the Sharia Creeps are acting the way they do, in part, becuase they came of age and were educated in Canada. Most educated Canadians their age, and of almost any age, don’t understand the concept of free speech either, or we wouldn’t have gotten into this mess in the first place.

Mark Steyn’s three (fake) accusers are the worst of both worlds, combining the average educated Canadian’s perfectly calibrated “diversity and tolerance monitor” with a Muslim’s thin skin, and sense of superiority and entitlement.

And remember: these three are being presented to us as the moderates, the very best their religion has to offer Canada. In fact, I faintly detect a claim in the air, wafting over from Muslim Incorporated, that we should be grateful they aren’t blowing us up, as we oh so richly deserve. Just suing us into silence.

Be very, very afraid.
