Despite their rep as all happy and poppy (based on their first year or two on the charts), the Beatles’ songbook is mostly a collection of funereal dirges.
Even “upbeat” songs like “Here Comes The Sun” are a drawn out drone, like a dentist drill.
So American Idol didn’t “murder” the Beatles so much as the songs suicided the singers.
The Who are so superior to the Beatles. Dirty smelly hippies didn’t like them, and also they don’t go around getting themselves shot by losers, or marrying one-legged rabbit boilers.
