It’s precisely because the article is not defamatory that the “plaintiffs” have had to rig the game by going to (at last count) three of Canada’s many “human rights” pseudo-courts. In none of their plaintive reprises protesting that they’re only looking for a chance to “start a debate” have they or their patrons at the Canadian Islamic Congress questioned the accuracy of a single specific fact, quotation or statistic. If they wanted to “start a debate,” they could start one, via a blog, column or book. Instead, they started a “human rights” complaint, which is what people do when they want to end the debate…
Indeed, because starting your own publication would involve actual work, and an investment in capital. Filing an HRC complaint is free; starting your own magazine, like Lt. Col. Maclean did over a hundred years ago (when millions of Muslims didn’t know what a magazine was) is not — even in Canada, with its generous government subsidies for such enterprises.
But never mind starting a magazine, or even a no-cost, no-risk blog. The Osgoode 4’s time would be even better spent promoting literacy in backward Muslim countries.
But why do that when you can make public fools of yourselves, and expose your fellow Muslims to ridicule, “hatred and contempt” by acting like brainless, bloodsucking parasites on both private enterprise and the public sector at one and the same time?
You have started a debate, guys. And just as quickly ended it. Congratulations: everyone now agrees you are hypersensitive, ill-educated morons who give Canadian Muslims a bad name!
