No Apologies writes: “Somebody’s lying” (a helpful primer)

“The Canadian blogosphere is really getting into the Richard Warman case now. There are obviously some people with lots of research time on their hands. One of them did a search of some of the transcripts where Mr. Warman has testified before various Human Rights Commission hearings. And that research found some blatant inconsistencies between his sworn testimony and the testimony given by another senior investigator at the Commission, Dean Steacy. The testimony came early last year in a case Warman had filed against Marc Lemire. Under repeated questioning, both from the chair of the hearing and from Lemire’s lawyer, Warman specifically and categorically denied to the Commission that he had posted certain things using the aliases “Gabriel” or “cynthia” to the now-defunct Recomnetwork website. That was in February.

“But in May, when Steacy was asked about the same postings, he testified that Warman had told him he was indeed the one who posted that material. It’s been revealed in recent days that both men used various aliases — while they were working for the Canadian Human Rights Commission — and there’s an affidavit on file with the Commission that says at least one of them, Warman, posted some pretty vile and racist stuff to various websites that were, or were soon to be, under CHRC investigation. While this sounds convoluted, the bottom line is this.  One of the two men is lying.”
