“Is Warren Kinsella a racist?”

Anyone who supports Obama just because he is black is stupid or racist or both.

Warren Kinsella didn’t care for that assertion, as I recall.

Here, the consumate, compleat Liberal Kinsella admits that he judges people by the colour of their skin, rather than by the content of their character (as Kate aptly puts it).

As you had guessed, but still.

Like getting your hundredth lap dance, Kinsella’s tired moral exhibitionism somehow manages to be both revelatory and enervatingly predictable at one and the same time. (Should he ask you to join him in the Champagne Room, politely decline. Like his drive by visits to the comments section merely to bitch — rather than to mount a substantial defensive argument — it’s all just a tease.)

From the comments:

“Obama’s mother is Caucasian, which means the Senator is as much a white man as he is a black man. Instead of rushing to judgment, though, we should give Kinsella the benefit of the doubt and assume that he meant to say ‘I think it’s time to see somebody who is mulatto as President of the United States.’

“If Kinsella didn’t misspeak, if he does judge people so much on the basis of race that he insists on calling someone who’s only half-white ‘black’, then I don’t know what to think of him anymore.

“Personally, I think it’s time for a crippled President, as long as he’s not a Jew. I mean, just to clarify, I wouldn’t oppose someone because he’s a Jew, nor would I support someone because he’s a Jew, it’s just that America’s not ready for someone who’s both a Jew and a cripple. It’s just not time, not yet; cripples are first in line, then blacks, then Jews, then women, then mulattos, then Asians.

Mind you, if the candidate had merely converted to Judaism, and had only a slight limp, he should be given a chance, but only if ‘it’s time’, at that particular time, for that particular mixed-identity group to be next in line to get their token president.”
