Glenn Beck: Hog on Ice beats me to it

January 9, 2008 By admin

“I’m sure I’ll cement my reputation as the meanest person on the Internet by saying this, but I keep thinking about the Glenn Beck thing. Cynic that I am, I can’t help finding it completely implausible. This guy is about 50, and he had no idea doctors were sons of bitches? No way. Everyone knows that. And claiming to have life-changing revelations over hemorrhoid surgery? I can’t believe that. It’s not even surgery.

(…)

“I have this horrible suspicion. Beck is talking about how people need help with their medical difficulties, and how his eyes have been opened in spite of the fact that all the action was at the other end, blah blah blah. Is he about to pull a phony Arianna conversion? Is he using his comparatively minor problem to justify a profitable turn to the left? Maybe he wants to reform his image. Conservatives who do well at liberal companies seem to do that. Have you seen Joe Scarborough lately?”
