It’s humbling and somewhat depressing to see blogs giving credit to the Daily Kos for Marsden’s firing.
This simply gives Kos more credit (and therefore more power) than they deserve or that we want them to have.
If Kos was responsible for Marsden’s firing this time, how does one explain why she’s been let go from the National Post, Fox News etc long before this incident?
(And talk about a weird “tell”: if I were Marsden I’d refrain from using my old swimming coaches as anecotal evidence for much of anything, let alone character development…)
I call this “humbling” because it reminds me that I need to be more circumspect about buying into one side of any story, especially when the “victim” is supposedly “one of us.”
I suppose I’m fortunate that my youthful lunacy is generally unavailable to the general public via a quick google. (People in AA have heard all my slutty drunkalogues, but the second “A” does stand for “anonymous”, thank God.) I don’t know how I’d handle knowing that no matter what I did for the rest of my life, I could never outrun my past. It’s like something out of Hitchcock or Poe. A contemporary nightmare. And a crazy making one, obviously…
PS: let me spare some of you the trouble of emailing me: sure, I’m SO jealous of Marsden cuz she’s like So skinny and stuff and has that Pantene hair blah blah. Yawn.
