Why or why do we keep reading the papers?

October 23, 2007 By admin

Or relying upon them for our blogposts…?

Yesterday I linked to an Atlantic Journal Constitution story, via DhimmiWatch, regarding an ex-Muslim “right wing member of the Dutch parliament”.

Well, a reader from the Netherlands writes:

“Ehsan Jami is certainly not a member of parliament here in the Netherlands (he wished he was). He is a city council member in the very unimportant city of Leidschendam-Voorburg. Further it says in your post he is ‘right wing’. Even by Dutch standards he is not right-wing (although saying taxes shouldn’t rise too fast and questioning Al Gore will already give you that tiltle). He was actually, until recently a member of the left wing Labour Party.”

Ehsan Jami had made me think of Pim Fortuyn. Let’s hope the only thing he has in common with Pim is the North American media’s struggle to categorize him (“So, is he right or left wing? How can you be gay AND anti-immigration?”)
