I’m curious, dillettantish, and have a pretty short attention span. So I subscribe to blogs on all kinds of subjects: politics and religion, celebrity gossip, the cinema, cute animals, writing and, yeah, sex.
One thing that’s surprised me is how many sex-related blogs post shout outs to the troops, write heartfelt Veteran’s Day posts, and so forth.
I was particularly struck by this post, written by a Middle Eastern woman who now resides in the Mid West. Obviously you shouldn’t click around the rest of her site if you’re easily embarrassed/offended.
“…people in America, especially young liberals, hippies and yuppies alike, like to bitch a lot about America. Hell do they know how good they have it — don’t have free health insurance for all? Back home, your newborn simply won’t come home alive if you don’t have enough money to put directly into a doctor’s pocket. Has happened before. Got Bush for a president? Back home, people don’t get to elect anybody, cause all of the elections are a complete fraud. Too much stuff? I am not even from the Third World, and, I can say, they have no idea what not having stuff means…”
